November 13-14, 2024//The Regulatory Division of the Department of Agriculture- RFO XII successfully conducted a Two-day “Training on Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP)” held in Koronadal City.
This Certification Program of the Department of Agriculture covers all livestock/animal facilities such as: breeder farms, poultry-broiler farm, poultry-layer farm, swine farm, goat farm, cattle farm, water buffalo farms, and hatcheries.
GAHP aims to ensure the production of safe and high-quality food that is fit for distribution and suitable for human consumption by adhering to the Philippine National Standars: Code of GAHP. In addition, it also ensure the welfare and safety of farm workers and animals without any degradation to the environment.
The training was participated by animal facility owners and representatives from South Cotabato Province, Sarangani Province, and General Santos City.
