#HVCDPMeetsLGUs | The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office XII High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) recently conducted the HVCDP Consultative Meeting with Local Government Units (LGUs) in General Santos City on January 15-16, 2025. The activity gathered LGU representatives from across the region to finalize targets and goals for Calendar Year (CY) 2025.

Among the highlights were presentations on the Communication Strategy Price Protection Program (PPP) and the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2), designed to enhance crop price stability and improve market access. Also discussed were the HVCDP budget for CY 2025, the finalization of target beneficiaries, and updated guidelines on the valuation of agricultural crops.

Regional HVCDP Coordinator Harmie Jay M. Hechanova, in his remarks, said, “Through this activity, we can ensure that the program reaches its intended beneficiaries for the year and that our strategies remain responsive to the needs of local farmers.”

The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with both HVCDP and LGU representatives expressing a shared vision for a thriving agricultural sector aimed at uplifting the lives of farmers in the region.
