#SOXCoffeeCongress25 | The SOX Coffee Farmers Congress kicked off with the rich aroma of coffee on January 22, 2025 in General Santos City, highlighting the region’s vibrant coffee culture. A key event during the opening was Brew It On!: SOCCSKSARGEN Coffee Congress Brewing Competition, where coffee brewers showcased their exceptional brewing skills.

Dave Michael Casio Beniga-Ibao, President of the Gensan Coffee Association, expressed his excitement during the event, saying, “This is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of our coffee farmers’ hard work and the artistry of our brewers. Together, weโ€™re proving that SOCCSKSARGEN coffee can compete with the best on the global stage.”

The brewing competition crowned ๐—ฅ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜‡๐—ฒ๐—น ๐—๐—ผ๐—ต๐—ป ๐——. ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ป of Betterdays Coffee as Champion, while ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ป๐˜† ๐—•๐—ผ๐˜† ๐—ง. ๐—ง๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป of INAG Coffee received the Stylist Brewer Award.

Other winners included Miklos Arthur O. Lemente of Cafรฉ de la Rue as 2nd Runner-Up, Dhanvin Louis R. Abanto of Habitat Coffee as 3rd Runner-Up, and Paul Toni T. Revisa of BLM Neighborhood Coffee as 4th Runner-Up.

As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, participants and attendees left with a renewed sense of pride and determination to elevate local coffee to new heights. With such passion and skill on display, the future of SOX coffee is undoubtedly brimming with promise.
