The Mindanao-Wide Proponent Group Summit for Second Additional Financing (AF2) and European Union Co-Financing Grant (AF2-EU) funded proponent groups officially opened today in Davao City, bringing together over 160 participants, including 45 proponent groups and LGU partners from across Mindanao.
This largest gathering of PRDP-supported farmer and fisher groups in Mindanao, brings together proponent groups that have successfully implemented their subprojects under the AF2 & AF2-EU. The summit serves as a platform to recognize their achievements, share best practices, and strengthen support systems to ensure these enterprises remain sustainable beyond PRDP support. It also provides an opportunity for proponent groups to connect with key stakeholders who can help drive long-term growth and impact.
In his message of support, PRDP PSO Mindanao Project Director Macario D. Gonzaga emphasized the importance of going beyond what has already been achieved by strengthening business models, exploring new market opportunities, and adopting sustainable practices that will ensure long-term success. โThe future of rural enterprises in Mindanao depends on your commitment to continuous improvement, adaptability, and collaboration,โ Gonzaga said.
The summit provides a crucial space for strategic planning, networking, and knowledge sharing, allowing participants to explore ways to sustain and scale their enterprises beyond PRDP support. โWe must recognize and celebrate the successes we have achieved together,โ Gonzaga added, underscoring the need to work collectively to ensure the sustainability of these initiatives.
The four-day activity, running from February 25-27, will feature experts and resource speakers from partner organizations and government agencies, providing valuable insights and technical support to participants with the aim of ensuring the sustainability of their enterprises.
