#InPhotos | Florante M. Racosas, Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council chairperson officially assumed his role as the Farmer Director for the month of May during a turnover ceremony held at the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XII grounds on Monday, May 5, 2025.
The event also marked the official launch of the 2025 Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month celebration with the theme “Makabagong Magsasaka’t Mangingisda, Susi sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas”. This celebration is a tribute to honor their contributions to the country’s food security.
“At the Department of Agriculture, there are so many opportunities to see the real situation of our farmers. Serving them is no easy task, and many of them are in great need. That is why we must never lose sight of their needs in the work that we do—so we can help lighten their burdens and improve their lives”, RED Perales said in his speech.
The wearing of ASEAN-inspired attire is also observed to promote identity and showcase cultural pride. It symbolizes solidarity and highlights the shared cultural heritage of Southeast Asia. (
