“Be the change you want the world to be, because change starts within you.” This was the inspiring message of Department of Agriculture Regional Technical Director for Operations Zaldy M. Boloron during the Community Resilience Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues on Climate Adaptation in Agriculture recently conducted in Koronadal City.
RTD Boloron encouraged participants to strengthen climate resilience in agriculture by supporting the DA’s advocacy through the Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) and the Mainstreaming Climate Resilient Agriculture (MCRA) program. The AMIA-MCRA framework and its key advocacies were presented to promote climate-adaptive approaches in the agriculture sector.
Representatives from Government Agencies like DILG 12, NIA 12, ATI 12, and OPAG South Cotabato shared their current climate-resilient projects and practices. State Colleges and Universities, including Mindanao State University, South Cotabato State College, and Sultan Kudarat State University, also presented their institution-led programs focused on climate adaptation.
Participants includes representatives from AMIA villages in Columbio, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat. The dialogue became a platform for knowledge sharing, building partnerships, networking and advancing climate-resilient farming practices in the region.
