#NewsRelease | Demonstrating the robust productivity of community-led agricultural enterprises, two farmersโ€™ associations under the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Phase II program achieved a total sell-out during the Department of Agriculture 12 Farmers and Fisherfolks Month Fair on May 14, 2026 in City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.

The participation of these groups was facilitated by the Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development (MAED) unit of SAAD, which invited two prominent associations from Tampakan, South Cotabato, to showcase their livestock-based commodities.

The Golden Hands RIC (Buto) presented its specialized product line featuring salted eggs and table eggs sourced from their SAAD Mallard Duck project, while the Maltana Farmers Association offered fresh table eggs produced through their SAAD Layer Chicken enterprise.

By the conclusion of the event, the two associations successfully cleared their entire inventory, generating a combined total sales of โ‚ฑ9,099.00.

This milestone highlights the market readiness of SAAD-assisted products and the increasing consumer preference for locally produced, high-quality agricultural goods.

The MAED unit remains committed to the economic advancement of these rural enterprises, stating that it will continuously provide platforms for SAAD-assisted associations to direct their products to consumers.

By eliminating middle-layer barriers and fostering direct market linkages, the program ensures that marginalized farmers transition into sustainable entrepreneurs with reliable income streams. ###
