In line with the upcoming 15th World Bank Mission next week, a team which consists of World Bank consultants conducted a Side Mission earlier today in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

This was to check the status of completed enterprise subproject, particularly the province’s Cassava Granules Production and Marketing Project, of the Philippine Rural Development Project.
The lead proponent group of the cassava cluster, Polo Samahang Nayon Multipurpose Cooperative, oriented the World Bank Team of their best practices and discussed with them how they overcame the challenges of implementation.

Agnes Dehormes of the World Bank, acknowledged the effort of the cassava cluster in implementing the clustering approach for the success of the subproject, and the role of the local government unit in the preparation of the farmer groups for the said strategy.

The World Bank team, together with consultants from the PRDP’s National Project Coordination Office, Project Support Office Mindanao, and Regional Project Coordinating Office XII, is capitalizing on conducting dialogues such this with coops involved in PRDP implementation to better the system and processes for the PRDP Scale Up.
