#HVCDay | Vegetable growers come together to celebrate the High Value Crops Day initiated by the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) at the DA 12 Grounds in Brgy. Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City today, May 30.

In his speech, DA 12 OIC Regional Technical Director for Operations Zaldy Boloron highlighted the importance and benefits of cultivating high-value crops and recognized its economic value and role in addressing global food security and nutrition.

To mark the event, the HVCDP and T’boli Vegetable Farmers Association organized a parade where they gave away free agricultural products to the workers from various government offices.
According to T’Boli Vegetable FA President Johnny Tolentino, they are doing this to share their bountiful harvest and express their gratitude to the government for its assistance in improving the farmers’ economic standing.

During the activity, the DA 12 turned over PhP2.2-million worth of farm inputs and tractor to T’boli Vegetable Farmers and Sto. Niño Vegetable Growers Association.
Private seed companies also presented their products and shared their technologies to the farmer-attendees.
