President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. participated in the Rice Industry Convergence Meeting, emphasizing the need for a whole-of-society approach to achieve 97.5% rice self-sufficiency and make the Philippines a global leader in agriculture.

During the meeting, the President, who also serves as the Agriculture Secretary, highlighted the Masagana Rice Industry Development Program and stressed the significance of infrastructure, research, development, coordination, digitalization, and climate change adaptation in its implementation. He also called for prioritizing farmers’ welfare and attracting the younger generation to the agriculture sector.
