The distribution was led by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Sen. Francis Tolentino and DA 12 OIC Regional Executive Director Dr. John Pascual.
As a support to their farming activities, each of the 840 eligible rice farmers from 17 barangays received financial assistance worth PhP5,000 from the DA through its partner financial institution — Land Bank of the Philippines.
The farmer-recipients were enrolled in Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) and tilling two-hectares and below.
Said cash grant was funded under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) Program in 2021.
