#EPAHP | The Department of Agriculture together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Trade and Industry in region 12 conducted a joint orientation and round table discussion with vegetable farmer associations on the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Convergence Program today, September 22.

DA 12 OIC-Regional Executive Director John B. Pascual said this partnership is a big help not just for our farmers because of the sure market of their produce and additional income but will also help mitigate hunger and reduce poverty in the country.

“The EPAHP Program aims to aid in reducing hunger, eliminate poverty in urban and rural areas, including marginalized communities, and ensure food security”, RED Pascual added.

According to Rodrigo S. Guillermo, DA12 EPAHP Focal, the farmer participants were capacitated on values and leadership, PhilGAP certification, financial management, labelling and packaging and digital farming program, among others.

Under the agreement, the agency will provide agricultural and fishery inputs and services, capacity building, and organizational strengthening assistance to farmers and fisherfolk organizations.
