Through the years, Greentropics Coffee Enterprise has been advocating for and practicing Gap or Good Agricultural Practices. Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) are important for the production of good quality coffee. These practices include:

-Proper selection of growing sites

-Access to adequate water and nutrition

-Proper pest management

-Guidance to farmers and other relevant stakeholders through principle-based practices from pre-planting operations up to postharvest handling

-Ensuring food safety, produce quality, workers welfare and environmental management

GAP in coffee farming is important for many reasons:

GAP helps to improve the quality and quantity of coffee production by ensuring optimal growing conditions, proper pest management, and good post-harvest practices.

GAP enhances the competitiveness and market access of coffee products by meeting the standards and requirements of different markets, such as organic, fair trade, or specialty coffee.

GAP advocates soil conservation, water management, biodiversity protection, and climate change adaptation.

GAP increases the profitability and sustainability of coffee growers by reducing production costs, increasing yields, and improving income.

GAP promotes the health and well-being of coffee consumers and workers by ensuring food safety, produce quality, workers welfare and environmental management.

GAP in coffee farming is not only beneficial for the farmers, but also for the consumers, the environment, and the society. It is a way of producing coffee that is good for everyone.
