“Panatang Makapalay” is a declaration of commitment to responsible rice farming practices, sustainable agricultural development, and the pursuit of rice self-sufficiency.
The observance of National Rice Awareness Month, as stipulated in Presidential Proclamation No. 524 Series of 2004, takes place every November to raise public consciousness about the significance of rice as a staple food, promote better health outcomes among consumers, enhance the incomes of local rice farmers, and ultimately achieve rice self-sufficiency for the nation.
