#VAWfreePH | The Department of Agriculture 12 supports the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) resolution declaring December 12 as Orange Day in Region XII in line with the culmination of the “18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women and Children (VAWC)”.
The color Orange symbolizes hope and solidarity in the global campaign against VAWC. The said resolution fosters unity and raises awareness about VAWC in Region XII and strongly supports the promotion of gender and development, as well as advancing women empowerment as contained in the SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Development Plan (RDP 2023-2028).
Republic Act No. 11313, or the Safe Spaces Act, addresses gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces, workplaces, and educational institutions, which is a critical element and crucial measure to addressing VAWC. DA 12 strongly supports these initiatives by participating in different activities related to this cause.
