The Project Support Office Mindanao received a plaque of appreciation from Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) in recognition to its active partnership in the university’s research and extension undertaking that respond to the development needs of the university stakeholder.

PSO Mindanao Project Director and DA XI Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo together with I-PLAN Component Head Elden Karl Requilme accepted the awards from SKSU given by Dr. Siony Brunio.

For the past years, DA-PRDP through its I-PLAN Component has been working closely with partners from the academe tapping their expertise on research to assist in activities like profiling of coffee farmers.

The research on “Establishment of Coffee Farmer’s Profile in North Cotabato, South Cotabato and Sarangani” is funded under I-PLAN Subcomponent 1.2 which focused on research, capacity building, and technical support.

The coffee farmers profile is very important as it can now be used as basis for decision making for planning, programming, and identifying the different interventions that could help boost the coffee industry of the Region.

Aside from the said profiling activity, DA-PRDP together with SKSU and Nestle Philippines through its convergence, was able to conduct the Knowledge Agripreneurship and Productivity Enhancement (KAPE) Training.

This KAPE training harness the collaboration between government, private sector and academe in supporting and advancing the coffee industry of Sultan Kudarat.

DA-PRD provided total 3.2 Million funding support to SKSU for the implementation of the said 2 convergence projects. (𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐌. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐨, 𝐏𝐒𝐎 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨)
