#TurnoverCeremony | The Department of Agriculture 12 successfully turned over a PhP5.3Million rehabilitated Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) funded under the Rice Program to Samahan ng mga Magsasaka ng New Ilocos (SAMANI) of Brgy. Poblacion, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat on April 19, 2024.
The project will benefit 66 farmer-members covering a service area of 70 hectares.
The rehabilitation of the SWIP is expected to have a big impact on local farmers, particularly during the dry season. By providing consistent water supply, enhancing crop yields, reducing production costs, and building climate resilience, the SWIP plays a crucial role in supporting sustainable agriculture and improving livelihoods in the community.
