#NationalFoodMonth | The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) bagged the first place of this year’s inter-agency cooking contest as part of the DA celebration of Filipino Food Month also known as Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino.
The said cooking contest was participated by eight regional offices and displayed their masterpiece in cooking Filipino delicacies. These are the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) (second place) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) (third place). Other participating agencies include the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Civil Service Commission (CSC), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Mines and Geo-Sciences Bureau (DENR-MGB).
The main objective of the said activity is to celebrate food and the role they play in Filipino culture and heritage, which aims to promote and preserve local culinary and the traditions that come with it.
Food exhibitors also displayed locally produced products that can be bought at affordable prices.
Newly-appointed DA12 Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales through the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) led the said activity.
