#SwineBioSecureFacilityTurnover | A Biosecure and Climate-controlled Finisher Operation Facility worth Php 10 million was officially turned over by the Department of Agriculture to Malalag Cogon Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (MaCARBA) in Malungon, Sarangani Province on May 8, 2024.
MaCARBA President Emilio Arañez expressed profound gratitude for the extensive support garnered from government entities at local, provincial, regional, and national levels, affirming their commitment and support for agricultural advancement of the country.
The facility is a pivotal component of the CY 2023 Inspire Program: Caliberated Repopulation – Community-Based Swine Production Through Clustering and Consolidation Project initiated by the Philippine National Livestock Program.
Malungon Mayor Atty. Maria Theresa Constantino extended her heartfelt congratulations to the members of MaCARBA. She also commented about the facility’s potential to empower and improve not only the lives of MaCARBA members but also to the surrounding communities of Malungon.
In addition, National Livestock Program Coordinator Dr. Roland Fajardo emphasized the pressing challenges confronting the livestock industry, highlighting the facility’s role as one of the crucial safety measures for the swine sector to recover after the damages done by the African swine fever.
