#MENTALHEALTHMATTERS | Every second week of October of every year is declared as National Mental Health Week under the auspices of the Philippine Mental Health Association per Proclamation No. 452 dated August 25, 1994. This proclamation was done to join the worldwide observance to get more public attention and support for mental health work.
To commemorate this highly essential annual observance, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XII’s Mental Health Program Committee organized a Mental Health Awareness Month on October 11, 2024.
Mental health advocate Dr. Allen Kurt M. Valdez, a Doctor to the Barrio of the Department of Health and is deployed in M’lang, Cotabato, served as the resource person who underscored the importance of mental health to the overall well-being of an individual.
