In a proactive effort to combat bird flu in Region 12, the Department of Agriculture (DA) 12, in collaboration with the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), distributed NDV vials and rabies vaccines across all provinces and four cities in the region on October 16-17, 2024.
The initiative aims to enhance biosecurity measures and protect both poultry and livestock from potential outbreaks. The distribution was well-received by Provincial and City Government personnel to be distributed to local farmers in their designated areas.
In addition to the NDV vials, the distribution of rabies vaccines is part of a broader strategy to enhance animal health across the region. The DA and BAI are committed to ongoing education and resources to equip farmers with the tools necessary to manage and prevent disease outbreaks effectively. Local agricultural officials will continue monitoring the situation and are prepared to implement further measures as needed to protect the region’s vital agricultural interests.
