#F2C2_RegionalSummit24 | Department of Agriculture (DA) F2C2 National Program Director Engr. Ricardo “Bong” M. Oñate Jr. together with Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales led the 3-day Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Regional Summit 2024 held on December 4-6 in General Santos City. With the theme, “Mula sa kanya-kanya, Patungo sa sama-sama,” the summit gathered stakeholders to promote collaboration and sustainability in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
The F2C2 program aims to support and enhance clustering and consolidation strategies within banner programs to boost the production and income of farmers and fishermen.
Director Perales emphasized the summit’s primary objective: empowering farmers and fishermen to set fair prices, secure profits, and ensure affordability for consumers. He stated, “The objective of this summit is kamo ang maka-dikta sa saktong presyo, malipay kamo nga naa moy kita nga dili mag-yayay sa atong mga consumers.”
Notable F2C2 clusters, such as LADIFA Surallah, T’boli Vegetable Farmers Association, and POLO SN MPC from Polomolok, South Cotabato, shared their best practices, inspiring other participants to adopt innovative approaches in their practices.
Representatives from various agencies, including ACPC, PCIC, CDA, DSWD, DTI, and others, introduced programs and services to support farmers in their efforts.
The event concluded with an awarding ceremony led by Director Perales, recognizing the exceptional efforts exhibited by different provinces in advancing agricultural development.
