Enhancing the livelihood of people and serving as an eligible source of quality poultry stocks in the region, the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Regional Field Office 12 through its Livestock Program has recently granted the Basak Livelihood for Peace Association a chicken multiplier farm amounting to PhP2 million on May 10,2024 at Brgy. Basak, Magpet, Cotabato.
The fund for the said project was transfered by the DA 12 to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Magpet in coordination with the Metro Arakan Valley Complex Project Management Office.
The Philippine Army assisted the association as part of their commitment to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services in the area under EO No. 70 that aims to institutionalize the whole-of-nation approach in attaining inclusive and sustainable peace that would allow countryside development.
Regional Livestock Program focal person Kirby Joy Sedillo-Garcia together with the National Livestock Program coordinator, Dr. Roland Y. Fajardo and local government officials led the ribbon cutting held at Sitio Tinagasan, Brgy. Basak, Magpet, Cotabato where the site of the upgraded multiplier farm is established.
