This competition is open to coffee farmers and entities engaged in the production and post-harvest processing of Robusta (major category) and Arabica (minor category) coffees within Region 12. Eligible participants include farmer associations, cooperatives, individual farmers, and corporate entities with coffee farms and post-harvest facilities located within the region.
Participants can only submit a single origin (single farm lot) of coffee beans and are limited to one (1) entry for each process (Honey, Natural, or Washed Process) of Robusta or Arabica.
Entries submitted by the farmers to the DTI 12 Provincial Offices must have a moisture content of 10% to 12%.
Each entry must be accompanied by an entry form appropriately labeled, and each entry will be assigned a Farmer Code. The identity of the entry owners will remain discreet and will only be disclosed during the announcement of winners.
In addition, a certificate of origin, duly signed by the Municipal/City Agriculturist Officer, will be submitted along with the entries. The certificate will ensure that the coffee beans were grown in the declared farm area.
The registration form along with the certificate of origin can be secured from the nearest DTI 12 Provincial Offices and Negosyo Centers.
A random sample of 2-kilogram coffee beans from each submitted entries will be collected by the designated receiving officer. These samples will be used for the coffee quality competition assessment by the Judge Q Graders.
The remaining coffee entries during the competition will be stored by the secretariat in a secured warehouse. They will be sealed in hermetic bags and jute sacks.
