#PRDP | Cattle stakeholders for dairy and beef production all over Mindanao gathered for a three-day Value Chain Analysis (VCA) Consultation spearheaded by the Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) in preparation for Scale Up projects in the Mindanao Cluster.
Participants were updated on the status of the cattle industry and engaged in an interactive workshop of identifying, correcting, and recommending solutions on how to address the various constraints in different areas in the value chain.
The result of the consultation will be reviewed and integrated into the value chain analysis report of the cattle industry, which will be used by the provinces, municipalities, and cities in crafting their respective local commodity investment plans.
The VCA report will also be used as a basis for investment proposals through PRDP IBUILD and IREAP and identify convergence opportunities through IPLAN.
The event which ran from August 19-21, 2024, in Koronadal City, wrapped up with setting the directions of the cattle industry roadmap targeted until 2030.
Among the attendees of the consultation were the PRDP Mindanao Project Support Office (PRDP PSO Mindanao), representatives from the National Livestock Program, National Dairy Authority – Southern and Northern Mindanao, Bureau of the Animal Industries, local government units, the private sector and was hosted by DA-PRDP RPCO XII.
