In a ceremony led by the PRDP Mindanao Project Support Office (PSO Mindanao), the implementation management agreements (IMA) for three infrastructure subprojects to be funded under the PRDP Scale-Up were signed and accomplished on October 1, 2024. These include the “Concreting of NHJ Lagubang-Banali-Buklod-Tacupis-Basag Farm-to-Market Road” which will be procured by the Municipal Government of Senator Ninoy Aquino, and the “Construction of 1 Unit Barangay New Panay Warehouse with Solar Dryer” and “Construction of 1 Unit Barangay Salabaca Warehouse with Solar Dryer” which will both be procured by the Municipal Government of Esperanza.
The occasion marks the second time the PSO Mindanao and their partner RPCOs have conducted the synchronous signing of the IMA, a new practice targetted at fast tracking the completion of documents necessary for subproject implementation under PRDP Scale-Up.
PRDP PSO Mindanao Project Director Macario D. Gonzaga highlighted the importance of the event as a significant step towards building up momentum for Mindanao’s implementation of the PRDP Scale-Up.
“The Philippine Rural Development Project has always been about collaboration, efficiency, and ensuring that the needs of our rural communities are met with timely and effective solutions,” said Gonzaga. “This milestone would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of everyone present here today, from the LGUs, the RPCO, and the PSO Mindanao.”
Acting Municipal Mayor of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Rafael George L. Flauta, III acknowledged the collaborative effort to bring their subproject proposal to this point in the implementation process.
“I’ve heard from the start that PRDP subprojects are very challenging but I believe that this big challenge has pushed us to strive for more,” Flauta said. “All of this would not be possible without everyone here today so congratulations to us all!”
Present at the milestone event was the RPCO 12 team led by DA 12 Regional Executive Director and RPCO 12 Project Director Robert Perales and PSO Mindanao team lead by Project Director Macario D. Gonzaga and Deputy Project Carlene C. Collado, CPA. (𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮 | 𝗣𝗦𝗢 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼)
