
#LOOK | The DA-MIADP RPCO XII in partnership with the Project Support Office (PSO) and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) XII conducts a Community- Based Monitoring and Evaluation Team (CBMET) Training Workshop at Greenleaf Hotel on May 28-30, 2025.
CBMET is a community-based mechanism developed to strengthen local participation and ownership in the implementation of the MIADP sub-projects composed of the Punong Barangays including the barangay councils, IPOs, and the willing members of the IPS.
This mechanism will provide technical and advisory services to the participating barangays and communities to the Project’s monitoring and evaluation systems at the local level. Very importantly, the team will act as a sounding board or an informal monitoring team for a better and improved transparency during the pre and implementation phases of the project.
To harness the formation of the team, the participants from Magpet, Cotabato and Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat, two of Region XII’s pilot ADs, have undergone a Values and Virtues orientation to deepen their engagement with government projects presented by Rev. Fr. Arturo B. Pancho from the Diocese of Marbel.
The participants were presented with the areas to monitor with in the implementation of the MIADP infrastructures and enterprise sub-projects including the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP), procurement, finances, to name a few.
During the workshop, the participants were made to identify indicators of project success and were oriented on data capture from on what to record its reasons.
Mr. Jims Kirby S. Serdoncillo, GGU Officer of RPCO XII, facilitated the workshop on the use of phones in GPS and geo-tagging. Consequently, the group made a simulation in filling out the forms needed and taking photos with geo-tags.
To solidify the group’s workshop and simulation experience, the participants were oriented on field protocols to the project site and practice data gathering and geo-tagging.
At the end of the three (3)- day training, commitment of the participants was generated and critical next steps were identified in gearing up for the nearing project implementation in their respective municipalities.
The activities were also participated by the LGU’s LPMIU member, representatives from the province of Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.
