Based on the recent data of the Philippine Statistics Authority, SOCCSKSARGEN’s average yield last year per hectare was 2.78 metric tons.
OIC-Regional Technical Director for Operations Zaldy Boloron called a meeting with partner-LGUs to help the agency in attaining the 5 metric ton-target yield per hectare this year.
Earlier today, February 22, at DA 12-Tupi Research and Experiment Station, provincial, city and municipal agriculturists and corn cluster members from South Cotabato, Sarangani, and General Santos City, were gathered as the agency bared its plans to increase productivity in corn.
Tomorrow, participants will be gathered by the agency from Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat Province.
