The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII), through its Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED), conducted a collaboration meeting with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on the status of the implementation of Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) projects in the region, held at Hotel de Viajera, Brgy. Morales, Koronadal City.
Participants in the said activity were representatives from the different District Engineering Offices (DEOs) across Region XII, Engr. Windel Ven Mamon from DPWH Region XII, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officers (APCOs) Rey M. Domingo of Cotabato and Marvin P. Segovia of Sultan Kudarat, and staff from the Regional Agricultural Engineering Division of DA-XII, headed by its chief, Dr. Jocelyn Torres.
The meeting aimed to assess the physical and financial status of FMR projects for the fiscal year 2024 and to discuss the status of FMR projects lined up for GAA FY 2025. Key administrative concerns were addressed to expedite the completion of ongoing projects, ensure road alignment in line with approved titles, settle Road Right-of-Way issues, and ensure adherence to the established guidelines of both agencies.
Furthermore, the proposed FMR projects for 2026, under Tiers I and II, were also discussed to ensure that the new proposals do not duplicate or overlap with any existing projects implemented by the DPWH.
This quarterly meeting reinforced the continued partnership between the DA and DPWH to ensure the effective implementation of FMR projects in support of communities within Region XII.
