𝐃𝐀-𝐒𝐀𝐀𝐃 𝟏𝟐 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐢𝐱 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞

To enhance the management and leadership skills of local farmers, the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟐’𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐃𝐀-𝐒𝐀𝐀𝐃) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝟐 conducted an Organizational Management and Leadership Training on September 2-3, 2024, in General Santos City. The training gathered six farmers’ associations from four municipalities in Sarangani Province.

The participating associations included the Muslim Christian Blaan Farmers and Fisherfolks Association and the Macol Integrated Farmers Association from the Municipality of Malapatan; the Panyan Market Vendors Association from the Municipality of Glan; the Kapimpilan Fisherfolks and Farmers Association and the Kiamba Tripeople Halal Livestock Growers Association from the Municipality of Kiamba; and the Bulol Awang Farmers Association from the Municipality of Alabel.

Mr. Sonny Esclamada, from DA Philippine Rural Development Project – Investments in Rural Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries Productivity (PRDP-IREAP), served as the resource speaker. He led discussions on the fundamentals of management, organizational management, leadership, and organizational cycles.

The training was facilitated by personnel from the SAAD Marketing Assistance and Enterprise Development Unit (MAED). Joy Misterio, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer of Sarangani and General Santos City, was also present at the event.
