The said meeting finalized the consolidated targets and plans following the series of consultation meetings with the respective key persons of the provincial local government units (PLGUs) of Region 12 in December 2022.
The activity was also attended (via online) by National Sorghum and Soybean Focal Person Rodolfo Panganiban who assisted in the finalization of the region’s multi-year targets.
Suggestions raised during the presentation of the multi-year plans for the said agri-commodities focused on the expansion of target areas, the fast-tracking of adaptability tests on soils of identified areas, and the prioritization of marketing and promotion advocacy.
It was also raised that farmer clusters should be organized early to cater farmer-consolidators for production and production technology learning. These clusters will eventually be linked with the private companies—among which were also present in the meeting.
