#YFCRegionalAwardingCeremony | The Department of Agriculture 12 is committed to support young farmers and nurturing their potential to become the next generation of agricultural leaders.
In Koronadal City today, November 8, the Department of Agriculture (DA) 12 staged the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Regional Awarding Ceremony and recognized the outstanding young farmers and best YFC Program-implementers in the region.
Seven awardees in the start-up category, one state university in the intercollegiate and three young farmers in the upscale, received financial grants from the DA 12.
Office of Senator Imee Marcos Region 12 Coordinator Jose Marie Tan Pestaรฑo and DA 12 OIC Regional Executive Director Dr. John Pascual led the turn-over of cheques to this year’s YFC Regional Awardees.
The program’s regional winners in Region 12 are:

In his message, Pestaรฑo underscored that the YFC Program is a valuable initiative that provides financial assistance and mentorship to young farmers, enabling them to turn their innovative ideas into successful agri-businesses.
Director Pascual also expressed his optimism about the positive impact of the YFC Program to the region’s agricultural sector.
“By investing in the youth, we are investing in the future of agriculture in Region 12,” he said.
YFC Program is one of the DA initiatives that encourages young farmers to develop and implement agri-fishery enterprises that address the nation’s agricultural needs and contribute to food security.
