#InPhotos| In order to improve disaster response capabilities in the agriculture sector, the Department of Agriculture (DA) organized a Training Workshop on the Incident Command System (ICS), a national event hosted by DA-RFO 12 held in Koronadal City.
DA-RFO 12 Regional Executive Director Roberto T. Perales welcomed the participants on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 offering encouragement and emphasizing the true value of preparedness.
“Training like this reinforces the value of preparation,” Director Perales stated. “This will prepare the team not only on paper, but also in practice, to deal with real-life situations,” he said.
The ICS framework, a globally recognized disaster response system, establishes a clear chain of command and operational procedures that are essential for effective coordination during disaster situations. The five-day workshop is designed to provide participants with fundamental knowledge and practical skills for managing emergencies and agricultural crises.
