#InPhotos | The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) XII held an assessment and coordination meeting in General Santos City on January 30-31, 2025 to review progress and set priorities for the coming year.
The two-day event featured comprehensive updates on project milestones, discussions on the work and financial plan for FY 2026, and an awarding ceremony recognizing PRDP staff for their exceptional contributions in 2024. The gathering served as a platform to address challenges, strengthen collaboration with local government units (LGUs), and refine strategies to enhance rural development efforts.
Reaffirming the agency’s commitment to transforming rural communities, DA-PRDP RPCO XII Project Director Roberto T. Perales highlighted the importance of improving infrastructure to boost market access for agricultural producers. “We are actively working with LGUs to ensure that projects in key commodity-producing areas move forward, especially in regions where poor road conditions and limited resources hinder product transport and export,” he stated.
He further emphasized the broader impact of these initiatives, adding, “Our goal is not just to improve infrastructure but also to uplift the lives of the people in these communities.”
As DA-PRDP continues to drive sustainable development, the event reinforced its mission to create lasting economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for rural farmers and producers. (Ian Carbonell, RPCO XII)
