#InPhotos | The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Regional Project Coordination Office XII I-PLAN Component initiated the Regional Agri-Fishery Investment Portfolio (RAFIP) Workshop on January 23-24, 2025, as part of the PRDP Scale-Up initiative.
The I-PLAN component, in collaboration with the partner Provincial Project Management and Implementation Unit (PPMIU) of Region 12, is pivotal in developing and refining the RAFIP, a critical strategy to improve clustering and consolidation efforts, promote increased private sector engagement, and bolster climate resilience in subproject interventions. The PPMIUs recognized the primary challenges, issues, and constraints in achieving regional competitiveness and the opportunities for enhancing it.
IPLAN Component Head Nelly E. Ylanan articulated the rationale and goals of the study, underscoring the workshop’s significance as a foundation for formulating regional plans and identifying investment opportunities in feasible multi-commodity and interprovincial initiatives with potential for clustering and scaling up.
Furthermore, National Project Coordination Office (NPCO) Planning Officer Kristina Kay R. Relleve outlined the transformational agenda. She highlighted that the Transformation Agenda, under the framework of the PRDP, is a strategic initiative designed to augment the competitiveness of commodity value chains by prioritizing commodities, addressing bottlenecks, and directing investments, all while aligning with the Department of Agriculture’s goals and PRDP objectives.
The activities were effectively represented by the NPCO-IPLAN, Project Support Office – IPLAN, RPCO-IPLAN, and RPCO 12 PPMIUs.
