The Department of Agriculture Region 12, through its Corn Program, conducted a Harvest Festival on September 4, 2024, in Carmen, Cotabato, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve agricultural productivity in the region.
The event was a key step toward enhancing the use of biofertilizers and soil ameliorants among corn farmers in the province.
The trials were carried out in partnership with 26 private companies to test its effectiveness on rice, corn, and vegetables.
The initiative also aims to encourage farmers to adopt cutting-edge agricultural technologies that improve soil health and boost crop yields.
The demonstration trials, designed to highlight the practical benefits of biofertilizers, form part of the department’s technology promotion strategy.
By working closely with private sector partners, the DA aims to introduce innovations that will enhance sustainability and resilience in farming practices.
