The Department of Agriculture Region XII thru the Regional Corn Program conducted a two-day training on corn silage production on August 27 at Sta. Catalina Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC), President Roxas, Cotabato Province and on August 28 at Unified Engineering Workers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
The National Dairy Authority (NDA) also imparted information on the production of silage, an alternative feed for livestock such as cattle, carabaos, and goats to farmers of Cotabato and South Cotabato province.
The primary objective of the training was to enhance the skills and knowledge of local corn growers by introducing them to corn silage production as a viable alternative product. This initiative sought to impart valuable insights and practical techniques that would bolster resilience and open potential avenues for growth and sustainability within the corn farming sector.
The said training is also in support of the agency’s Corn and Livestock Integration program.
