#InPhotos | The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) XII and the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) have formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on May 14, 2025 in General Santos City, to designate an additional two-hectare area at the Aroman Research and Experiment Station (ARES) in Carmen, Cotabato. This area will serve as the DA-PRRI Central Rubber Nursery for Improved Technology and Learning Site in Region XII.
The initiative aims to boost the rubber industry in the region through focused Research, Development, and Extension (RD&E) activities. The newly designated site will be used to enhance rubber production technology, establish a rubber nursery and budwood garden for quality planting materials, and develop a dedicated learning facility with necessary infrastructure.
This ten-year agreement reflects the commitment of both parties to further strengthen the rubber industry in Region XII. By providing additional land and support, the MOA enables PRRI to expand its capacity to produce high-quality rubber planting materials and facilitate knowledge-sharing among stakeholders. (
