Given the urgency to help farmers in the SOCCSKSARGEN region, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) XII through the Rice Program convened fertilizer merchants from different municipalities in a meeting today, February 5, 2024.
The activity was a venue to discuss the implementation process and operation for the fertilizer intervention through the Fertilizer Discount Voucher (FDV) scheme. Over PhP 900Million-worth of fertilizer subsidy is allocated for the rice farmers as a component of hybrid and inbred rice seeds to be distributed to the eligible farmers in the region for the coming wet and dry cropping season for the year 2024-2025.
The Fertilizer Discount Voucher aims to augment the fertilizer application of the farmers to increase productivity and crop yield given that fertilizer has a great factor to achieve the said objectives.
