#AFCday | The Department of Agriculture RFO 12 conducted an Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) Day as part of the celebration of this year’s Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month Celebration. The Agricultural and Fishery Council coming from the different municipalities and provinces of SOCCSKSARGEN joined the said activity today, May 15, 2024.
A Holy Mass jump started the event in commemoration of the Feast of St. Isidore the Laborer, the patronal saint of the farmers, which was presided by Rev. Fr. Salvador D. Leyso.
This was attended by the DA 12 personnel and officials of the Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) coming from the different provinces and municipalities in SOCCSKSARGEN as giving tribute to the late saint who was known of his piety toward poor and animals.
AFCs in attendance enjoyed the trivia games and AFC Day Singing contest participated by farmers coming from the respective municipalities.
The celebration aims to recognize the invaluable contributions of our farmers and fisherfolk in nation building and in the achievement of food security in the country.
