#FoodSecurity | To address the onion crisis in the country, the Department of Agriculture spearheaded a “Meeting on Food Security” with National Food Security Adviser Emmanuel Piñol in Koronadal City today, January 13, 2023.Gathering officials from Region 12 agencies like the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Plant Industry, Agricultural Training Institute, Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority, and various private agri-companies, the said meeting aimed to craft a concrete plan of action on forming an onion program in Mindanao.“Madaling magtanim ng sibuyas sa Mindanao,” Piñol said after consolidating positive inputs from present agri-companies.As a first step, it was agreed upon that pilot demo/model farms will be established in General Santos and Bagumbayan.The said farms will be featuring the different technologies presented by the private companies.
