#SeedGrowersTraining| 18 rice farmers from two AMIA villages in Pigcawayan, Cotabato, the Maluao and Bulucaon AMIA villages association, completed a five-day Basic Training on Inbred Rice Seed Production and Certification for Seed Growers in Kidapawan City.

The training was initiated by the Department of Agriculture’s Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA Soccsksargen ) Program that aims to provide rice farmers in AMIA villages with an alternative means of increasing their livelihood.

The Basic Training on Inbreed Rice Seed Production and Certification for Seed Growers is required before applying to become Certified Seed Growers.

Crop management was taught from planting to harvesting, and it must be followed in accordance with the Palay Check System and the Bureau of Plant Industry-National Seed Quality Control Services (BPI-NSQCS) guidelines.
