๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐| Itโs a bountiful harvest today in one of Polo Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperativeโs (Polo SN MPC) cassava farms in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Over four years since its completion, Polo SN MPC has experienced continuous growth brought about by DA-PRDPโs โProduction of Cassava Granules and Marketingโ enterprise subproject which included the establishment of post-harvest facilities and the provision of processing equipment.
What used to be a three-day manual chipping process for 30 tons of cassava has now been reduced to just half a day, thanks to mechanization, leading to a significant increase in their production volume.
The number of cassava farmer members has also grown, and they not only receive technical assistance but also financial support and various other benefits. The expansion of their production area has also created additional job opportunities for the local community, with individuals working as planters, harvesters, and processors.
Following the cassava harvest, the crop is processed through granulators for chipping and then dried before being sold to institutional buyers. (via JOY M. MONTECALVO| Photos by LEONARD JOHN ASUQUE, PSO MIN)
