#PRDPNews | A groundbreaking ceremony was held today, April 30, 2025, to mark the start of the concreting of the 4.4-kilometer San Isidro-Buto Farm-to-Market Road (FMR), which will also include the construction of a 30.3-linear meter bridge. This Php 151.1-million infrastructure subproject in Tampakan, South Cotabato is part of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Scale-Up Initiative.
Tampakan Mayor Leonard T. Escobillo expressed his excitement over the project, acknowledging the challenges in bringing the initiative to fruition. “It was a complex process, but it was worth it,” he said. “Now, we are more committed than ever in bringing more projects to our municipality, making Tampakan a better and more connected place.”
Representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and DENR-CENRO, along with local officials from the Municipality, Barangay San Isidro and Barangay Buto, were also in attendance to celebrate.
The new road and bridge aim to improve accessibility for farmers and residents in the area, providing more efficient routes to local markets and nearby municipalities. By enhancing the transport of agricultural produce, including coconut and high-value crops, the project is expected to significantly boost both the quality of life and commodity production in the municipality.
