HONORING WOMEN’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO AGRICULTURE.
The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII) honored this year’s winners of the annual Search for Outstanding Rural Women.
Declared as the regional winner was Rosalyn Espenorio from the municipality of Antipas, Cotabato province who took home P50,000.00, and a plaque. Her runners-up were Sheila Rivera from Kidapawan City; and Genelyn Ado from the municipality of Magpet, who received P30,000.00 and P20,000.00, respectively.
Leading the awarding ceremonies today at the DA-RFO XII Conference Room were Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Operations Zaldy Boloron and RTD for Special Concerns Engr. Abraham Onotan who underscored that women play a crucial role in agriculture, contributing significantly to food security, rural economies, and sustainable development.
The DA-RFO XII led by Regional Executive Director Roberto Perales has continuously been recognizing and addressing the challenges faced by women in agriculture for them to harness their potential in creating a more sustainable, equitable, and food-secure future.
