#ConvergenceInitiative | The National Convergence Initiative for Sustainable Rural Development (NCI-SRD) spearheaded a Year-End Assessment and the FY 2026 Operational Planning Workshop in Koronadal City on November 11-15, 2024 to assess its accomplishments at the same time prepare its plans for the ensuing years. This activity was attended by personnel coming from the different agencies from different regions all over the country.
The NCI-SRD is a collaborative effort between the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). This initiative aims to harmonize and optimize the resources and efforts of these four key agencies to achieve sustainable rural development.
The NCI-SRD endeavors to achieve the following: Improved Governance: The initiative seeks to streamline and enhance the delivery of rural development services by fostering closer coordination and collaboration among the four agencies; Optimized Resource Utilization: By pooling resources and expertise, the initiative aims to maximize the impact of government programs and projects in rural areas; and Sustainable Rural Development: The initiative emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to rural development, considering ecological, social, and economic factors.
By working together, the DA, DENR, DILG, and DAR can create a more prosperous and sustainable future for rural communities in the Philippines.
