#FieldVisitation | The National Corn Program, headed by National Director Milo D. delos Reyes and staff, conducted projects in Region 12 on May 29-30.
During the visit, the director engaged in discussions with the SAVESEGROW, a recipient of a corn postharvest facility in Malungon, Sarangani, urging them to expand their initiatives to better support small-scale farmers in the area. The team also visited members of the Malandag Dairy Farmers Cooperative in the same municipality.
Furthermore, a visit to the farmers of Alamada, Cotabato province aimed of promoting the cultivation of soybeans and sorghum among local farmers and determine the additional assistance needed by corn farmers in the region to enhance their production and yield.
Overall, the primary objective of the program is to uplift the status of corn farmers, ensuring their prosperity and growth in the agricultural sector.
The program also seeks to facilitate connections between farmers and prominent traders, thereby enhancing the production of these commodities within the region.
