#RCEF-RFFA | PHP 8.7 Million Cash Aid to Rice Farmers in Kabacan, Cotabato
More than PHP 8.7 million worth of cash assistance was distributed to 1,753 rice farmer-beneficiaries in Kabacan, Cotabato on August 19, 2024 through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) program.
The distribution is part of ongoing efforts by the government to support smallholder rice farmers during the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL). Each beneficiary, which is duly registered to the Registry System for the Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), received PHP 5,000.00, a vital financial boost aimed at providing temporary relief to farmers who cultivate two hectares and below. The assistance is expected to help them cope with the challenges brought about by the liberalization of rice imports under the Rice Tariffication Law.
The distribution in Kabacan was part of a broader initiative, as personnel from the Department of Agriculture Region 12 – Rice Program were deployed across the region to ensure the timely and efficient disbursement of the financial aid.
With the dedicated effort and support of the Local Government Officials of Kabacan, the activity was successfully completed.
