
#TurnoverCeremony | An PhP11 Million-worth of warehouse facilities were officially turned over to two (2) farmer groups in Barangay Kibid and Barangay San Jose, Norala, South Cotabato on February 19, 2025.
The facilities, valued at PhP 6.2 million and PhP 4.8 million, were awarded to the Norala Seed Growers Association (NOSEGA) and the San Jose Norala Communal Irrigators Association, respectively. These projects are designed to boost agricultural productivity in the region by ensuring access to high-quality seeds and improving post-harvest storage capabilities.
The ceremony was attended by the Municipal Agriculture Office of Norala, members of the beneficiary associations, and officials from DA RFO XII and formally handed over the warehouse facilities to the recipients.
Municipal Agriculturist Sammie B. Barrera urged the association members to take ownership of the facilities and ensure their proper maintenance. She emphasized the importance of sustainability and increasing rice productivity in the locality. Ms. Barrera also reaffirmed the commitment of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Norala and DA RFO XII to support farmers in enhancing their livelihoods and agricultural output.
