#DAProjects | Multi-million projects that will revive the swine industry and advance rice sector in Cotabato Province will soon rise and aid the production of farmers in President Roxas and other nearby towns.
These two agricultural interventions from the Department of Agriculture (DA) will benefit the Sta. Catalina Multi-purpose Cooperative, its stakeholders and agri sector in the said province.
Under the DA’s National Livestock Program, a ceremonial groundbreaking of the PhP5.5-million community-based swine production through clustering and consolidation project — first-ever in Cotabato, was held today, January 18, in Brgy. Labuo. This 300-swine capacity building costs PhP5.5-million.

Further, the certificate of PhP70-million worth of Rice Processing System III funded under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Mechanization Program was also awarded by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization to Sta. Catalina MPC.
“Reach out for marginalized people. Marami tayong IPs na mahihirap. Marami tayong kababayan na mahihirap. Huwag natin silang kalimutang i-include sa ating mga programa,” said DA 12 OIC-Regional Executive Director Sailila Abdula in his keynote speech as he challenged the coop to bring its services closer to the communities.
